The Ties that Connect Us
an 8 Hour Rope Bondage, Intention and Magic Intensive

Join internationally renown rope artist, human sexuality and spirituality educator Lee Harrington in an exploration not only of the art of rope bondage, but how to use it for connecting with our partners and for doing magic. Feel the fibers echoing your desires through your fingertips and wrapped around the body of your partner, feel the fibers trace you towards divination techniques you may not have explored before, feel the fibers teach you another way to explore the universe at large. From fun and playful hands on practices brought to you by the author of “Shibari You Can Use,” to intense conversations about the ethics of rope bondage magic and how it applies to a variety of the eight-fold paths (rope bondage is not just about ordeals after all). Feel the fibers in your finger tips, and find the ties that connect us.

Maximum number of attendees: 20
Must be either: (a) in a pair or triad for practicing
(b) be willing to be randomly paired up for hands on practices
(c) do no hands on work except on themselves
Participants must specify which of the three options they are taking
before the event begins, for planning purposes

Please notify us in advance if you have special needs (mobility
challenges, allergies to dust/hemp, etc) so we can see what can be done
for you to be part of the intensive.

What should participants bring?

-Rope Kit: Each “rigging” participant will need a minimum of 3 20-30ft
pieces of 6mm rope. This means that if it is a partnered pair, you can
get away with just that much rope. I recommend MFP (Multifilament
polypropalene, I get mine from Rainbowrope.com or sometimes Home Depot)
or processed Hemp Rope (I get mine from TwistedMonk.com, BossBondage.com
or many other distributors online). What matters is to bring rope that
you will use- if this is BRAND new to you, you have a choice- invest
quality, or buy cheap. It’s really up to you. If you have no interest
in buying rope in advance, there will be limited supplies to borrow from
the instructor, but watch the key word- limited. My ideal rope kit for
each partnership or rigger: 2 10-15ft pieces, 3-4 25-30ft pieces, an
emergency release tool (emergency scissors, bandage scissors, safety
knife, etc), a bag to carry it all in, a bandana (doubles as a blindfold,
drool wipe, etc), a water bottle, a dildo for sex play/making strap on
harnesses out of rope, and a warm light weight blanket to wrap up in if
you get cold. That is not necessary, but if you have it, bring it. If
you are confused about rope, feel free to email Lee Harrington.

-Comfortable clothes: You will be being tied up. It may be a tad chilly…
think ahead. I like comfortable blue jeans, yoga pants, or sweat pants,
a loose fitting tee shirt or tank top, and some sort of over-shirt/jacket
that is easy to move in. I also recommend a bandana or headband for
people who sweat heavily. Nudity is dandy, but you may not want to be
naked the whole time.

-A sense of fun and adventure.

Presenter: Lee Harrington is an eclectic artist, spiritual and erotic educator, gender radical and published author on human sexuality and spiritual experience- including "Shibari You Can Use: Japanese Rope Bondage and Erotic Macramé" and the “Toybag Guide to Age Play”. Well known for his fun and informative approach to education, ze approaches sexuality as yet another art to master, or simply
an art to enjoy to its fullest! Ze has been an active part of the international kink and sex positive communities for over 12 years, and his stories make people laugh while showing you that eroticism can be as serious, sexy, or silly as you make it. Lee's writings and photography have appeared in numerous anthologies
including "Dark Moon Rising: Pagan BDSM and the Ordeal Path" (also under his previous pen name, Bridgett Harrington), and his image has been seen everywhere from PlayBoy TV to the pages of Skin Two Magazine.
